Subjects and Methods:
The methods including statistical analysis should be described briefly.
Previously
documented
standard
methods need
not to be
described in
detail but
appropriate
reference to
the original
should be
cited.
Clinical
trials on
human
subjects
should
include a
statement
confirming
that the
study
protocol was
approved by
local human
ethics
committee.
Units of
measurement:
Le System
international
de' Units
(SI) are
preferred.
Equivalent
values in
traditional
units should
be given, if
thought to
be
necessary.
Results:
The results need to be presented in a logic and concise sequence in the
text. Tables
and
illustrations
should be
placed in
the
"Results"
section.
Discussion:
Emphasize the new and important aspects of the study and conclusions
that follow.
Data or
information
given in the
introduction
or the
results
sections is
not
recommended.
Include only
the
implications
of the
findings and
their
applications
for future
research.
Relate the
observations
to other
relevant
studies.
Link the
conclusions
with the
goals of the
study and
avoid
unqualified
statements
and
conclusions
not
completely
supported by
the data.
Acknowledgements:
Persons who have contributed to the work as well as sources of support
can be
acknowledged
at the end
of the
article.
References:
References should be accurate and are the sole responsibility of the
author(s).
They must be
numbered
consecutively
in the text
and listed
at the end
of the
article.

Aim and Scope:
The Journal of Taibah University Medical Science JTUMS is a peer
reviewed
bi-annual
publication.
Authors are
invited to
submit
articles for
publication,
reporting
original
work in
clinical and
basic
medical
sciences.
Review
articles are
by
invitation
only.
However,
those
received and
found to be
of an
outstanding
nature will
be
considered
for
publication.
Other
regular
features
within the
journal
include,
Case
Reports,
Letters to
the Editor,
and
Forthcoming
Events which
detail
upcoming
symposia,
conferences
and
workshops
located
primarily in
the Kingdom
of Saudi
Arabia and
the Gulf
countries.
Instructions to Authors:
The journal complies with the Uniform Requirements for manuscripts
submitted to
Biomedical
Journal also
known as the
'Vancouver
style,'
"Uniform
Requirements."
Manuscripts
written in
English,
with an
abstract in
Arabic,
should be
submitted in
triplicate,
double-spaced,
on pages of
uniform
style (A4).
Papers must
be divided
into
sections,
headed by
captions
e.g.
Abstract,
Introduction,
Subjects and
Methods,
Results,
Discussion,
References,
etc.
Manuscripts
submitted
for review
will not be
returned to
authors
whether the
editorial
decision is
to accept,
revise or
reject. The
only
exception
will occur
when the
Editor
returns a
manuscript
with
handwritten
suggestions
to aid in
the revision
of the
paper. To
minimize
delay
between
manuscript
submission,
decision and
publication,
authors are
requested to
follow
"instructions
to authors
conforming
to all the
steps listed
to
facilitate
the
processing
of the
manuscript
by the
Editorial
Board.
The JTUMS welcomes manuscripts stored on floppy disk/CD compatible with
Microsoft
word for
windows. It
should be
labeled by
software/version
number, the
first
author's
surname and
the title of
the
manuscript.
Submission
of
manuscript
by email is
acceptable.
Publication
of a paper
does not
imply the
Journal's or
the Editor's
agreement
with the
statements
or opinions
expressed
therein; it
will be the
full

Title Page:
The title page should conform to the following guidelines; concise and
brief as
possible,
includes the
initials,
last name
and
professional
occupation
of each
author. The
full mailing
address of
the
corresponding
author, and
if desired,
his or her
telephone
number, fax
and e-mail
address
should also
be included.
Abstracts:
Structured format; Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, not
exceeding
250 words.
It should
summarize
the work in
a simple and
clear
manner. Case
reports are
to be
preceded by
a brief
abstract of
100 words or
less. Key
words are to
be provided
on the same
sheet under
the
abstract.
Introduction:
The introduction should give a concise background of the problem and
justification
of the
study. It
should
clearly
specify the
aim of the
study.
Previous
work should
be quoted
only if it
had direct
bearing on
the present
problem.
