The IS department is considered one of the most important departments in the College of Computer Science and Engineering (CCSE) due to the fact that information systems are related to many other practical fields and modern academic curriculums, in addition to the importance of information systems in the developing cooperative academic and administrative relationships with other colleges and scientific departments in the university.

Information Systems is a science that involves the identification of requirements, needs and objectives of an establishment including the structure of the organization and its strategies. The science then aims to provide practical software solutions that can help improve the performance and productivity of the organization, and transform its traditional business functions to electronic.

The field of information systems is characterized by being focused on the development of the information systems that are needed and required by many governmental, commercial and private organizations, companies, institutions, and establishments. The IS department is committed to developing academic curriculums that enable the students to acquire the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed by job market and pursued by many different organizations.

Employment Opportunities for IS Graduates

The IS department awards its graduates a Bachelor and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems.  This degree allows the graduates to pursue employment in the following areas:
