The larger the project, the greater the need for an effective internal auditing system that should cover all aspects of the project's activities. The existence of this auditing has become a necessity for every project operation, such as cash operations, which always need auditing to detect any errors or manipulation.

Objectives

Protecting public funds and assets, minimizing and promptly detecting fraud and errors.
Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data and accounting records.
Ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of administrative and financial operations, leading to the optimal use of available resources.
Ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations, instructions, policies, and plans to achieve objectives efficiently and systematically.
Ensuring the safety and effectiveness of internal control systems.

Tasks

Participating in the development of the main objectives of internal auditing and in the development and implementation of plans and programs that contribute to achieving these objectives.
Developing internal audit plans and setting performance goals for subordinate employees in light of this, in alignment with the strategic objectives of the entity.
Establishing a schedule for report submissions and discussions with other departments and senior management.
Coordinating with other departments within the government entity to implement audit activities and discuss reports.
Distributing work tasks among different work teams and groups within the department.
Evaluating the actions taken by the departments under review to avoid the weaknesses and shortcomings mentioned in the internal audit report.
Coordinating the results of the implementation of different audit tasks and making final adjustments to the internal audit report before submitting it to the president and getting it approved.
Evaluating the performance of department employees, including directors, auditors, and assistant auditors.
Building effective working relationships with external auditors and ensuring the necessary support is provided to facilitate external audit processes, providing all reports and information they may request, reviewing the results of the external audit, and presenting them to the senior management of the entity.
