This course covers through knee, trans-femoral, and hip disarticulation prosthetics. The course also covers basic and specialized knowledge of special amputations, like too short, too long stumps and hip disarticulation. The student will learn the design and methods of manufacturing prostheses for these cases. The student will also learn about the use of computer aided design and computer aided manufacture of prostheses (CAD CAM system). New trends in lower limb prosthetics, like ossteointegration and electronic knees, are also covered.
