This course extends the students with appropriate scientific concepts and principles
which focus on studying women in different life cycles. Knowledge of reproductive
health, safe motherhood and gynecological aspects are essential for the planning
and implementation of care during preconception, conception, antenatal, and
postnatal periods and the provision of holistic care for women and their families
within hospital and community settings.

7. Course Main Objective(s):
The students should be able to:
1. Identify basic concepts and principles related to woman childbearing periods.
2. Construct comprehensive nursing care plan in management of normal and
abnormal conditions in different childbearing periods.
3. Demonstrate essential nursing competencies for women in normal and
abnormal childbearing conditions.
4. Integrate critical thinking skills and problem-solving process in obstetric and
gynecological clinical practice by using evidence base practice.
5. Utilize current and evolving obstetric technologies and communicate effectively
with obstetrics clients and other health team members using different
modalities.
6. Apply the rules, regulations, safety, and ethics principles of nursing practice and
quality nursing care in different obstetrics /gynecology health care setting
