Objectives of the Institutional Sustainability Unit

  • To build an integrated institutional sustainability system that supports the university's vision and mission and enhances its role in serving society and the environment.
  • To enable colleges and administrative bodies to adopt sustainability practices within their activities and operational plans, through providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • To develop quality sustainable initiatives that reflect the university's commitment to environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
  • To enhance institutional awareness of the concepts and principles of sustainability through interactive programs targeting faculty, staff, and students.
  • To create a specialized database to track performance indicators in sustainability areas at the university level.
  • To integrate with national and international plans in the areas of sustainable development to serve the university's leadership position locally and globally.
  • Coordinating with relevant authorities to support innovative research and projects with a sustainable impact, and contributing to stimulating the develoment of applied solutions that serve the environment and society.
  • Enhancing smart and sustainable infrastructure on campus, achieving resource efficiency and improving the quality of university life.
  • Raising the university's readiness and improving its position in national and international sustainability rankings by documenting and activating institutional sustainability efforts and linking them to the indicators of those rankings.
