Program Overview
The Master’s program in Psychological and Educational Counseling is one of the graduate programs affiliated with the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education, Taibah University. The program consists of (44) approved credit hours that include both coursework and the research project. These requirements are completed over two academic years, with the duration of study in the program being four academic semesters.
Program Mission
Preparing national cadres that contribute to enhancing sustainable psychological and social development in the field of psychological and educational counseling and the economics of psychological knowledge through distinguished education, quality research, and community partnership in an environment that stimulates learning and creativity.
Program Objectives
· Establishing modern psychological practices at the level of diagnosis, assessment, and psychological counseling based on evidence and proof in the field of providing psychological and educational guidance and counseling services.
· Promoting Islamic and scientific ethical values and practicing them in the field of mental health and psychological and educational adjustment among those wishing to join the professions of psychological and educational counseling and guidance, as well as among those seeking professional development and growth.
· Using scientific research methods in dealing with psychological, educational, and social problems and disorders, and applying its skills while providing developmental, preventive, and therapeutic services to the targeted groups.

Knowledge and Understanding
• Interprets the relationships between classical theories and modern developments in the fields of psychological and educational counseling, or professional practice and the profession.
• Identifies specialized methods of inquiry and scientific research in the field of psychological and educational counseling, including the analysis of psychological and educational problems and the identification of appropriate solutions for them.
Skills
• Evaluates the main concepts, principles, and theories in psychological and educational counseling within complex contexts related to psychological, personal, and professional issues and problems.
• Employs digital applications in analyzing data related to psychological and educational counseling.
• Designs and implements advanced scientific research or a professional project in the field of psychological and educational counseling, using specialized research methodologies and approaches to investigate issues related to professional practice.
Values, Autonomy, and Responsibility
• Leads community initiatives and evaluates their impact in the fields of psychological and educational counseling.
• Practices ethical, professional, and human values while working on counseling-related issues.
