The College of Nursing, represented by the Department of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, held an awareness event at the college campus titled “A Stigma-Free Community” on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health and correct misconceptions related to mental disorders.
Colleagues at the college highlighted the importance of achieving health equity by combating the stigma associated with mental disorders. They also discussed the economic burden resulting from these disorders, in addition to addressing several misconceptions related to mental health across different cultures. The event witnessed the attendance of a number of visitors from among the university’s members, including staff, faculty members, and both local and international students.
