Taibah University, in collaboration with the Saudi Stem Cell Donor Registry, organized a campaign titled "Cells That Carry Hope." The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of stem cell donation and its role in saving the lives of patients in need of transplants, while also increasing the chances of finding tissue-matched donors.
The campaign provided information on the donation process and its significance in supporting patients. It also offered individuals the opportunity to join the registry of potential donors by providing oral swabs for tissue-typing—a step that helps expand the donor base and improves the likelihood of finding compatible matches for patients requiring stem cell transplants.
This campaign is part of broader efforts to foster community awareness regarding the importance of stem cell donation and to encourage the public to register as potential donors, thereby supporting initiatives aimed at providing treatment options for patients whose medical conditions require a stem cell transplant.
