Three innovative research projects at Taibah University in Madinah have received research grants from the National Institute for Health Research, as part of the “Epidemics and Biotechnology Research” initiative. The initiative aims to enhance the Kingdom’s preparedness in the fields of health and biotechnology and to keep pace with scientific advancements in this vital sector.
The university explained that the funded projects include the development of multi-strain antivirals for dengue fever, a structure-based design for treating dengue fever by targeting non-structural proteins, in addition to the development of a screening and treatment system for antiviral and antibacterial drugs.
This initiative comes within the framework of supporting and funding researchers in universities and government and private entities, enabling them to conduct translational research and advanced clinical trials that contribute to the development of innovative products and strategies for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
