Taibah University in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah concluded yesterday the two-day “Tamkeen” bootcamp, which aimed to enhance faculty members’ competencies in developing comprehensive teaching practices and strengthening their ability to build inclusive learning environments that respond to the needs of students with disabilities and support their active participation in the educational process.
The organization of the bootcamp aligns with the University’s direction toward reinforcing the principles of inclusive education and supporting the sustainability of educational practices that ensure equal opportunities and empower students with disabilities to integrate effectively into the university environment.
The bootcamp delivered diverse training content focused on equipping faculty members with practical knowledge and skills to engage with different categories of disabilities within classrooms. This included presenting applied models of inclusive teaching strategies and mechanisms for adapting educational content and learning environments to suit students’ needs, thereby improving learning outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of education.
The program also featured several specialized sessions addressing methods and strategies for teaching deaf students, adapting instructional domains for students with disabilities, and topics related to teaching students with sensory impairments and learning difficulties. These sessions were delivered by a select group of the University’s faculty members as part of knowledge exchange and the promotion of effective educational practices.
