This course aims to introduce students to Biosystematics history, the most important contributions of taxonomists and how to construct identification keys using different characters from morphological to molecular level. The higher and lower categories in taxonomy will be taught with an overview on international codes of nomenclatures. Also, the students will learn how to construct phylogenetic trees based on morphological, cytological, biochemical, molecular, and other data sets using modern techniques and computer programs.
