This course is designed to enable the students to identify the functions of various body systems and how they work together to maintain a state of homeostasis and to develop practical competence in assessing the normal functioning of major systems of the body. In addition, this course is designed to provide the students with the basic knowledge of the normal functions of the human body and what takes place when disease or illness disrupts the normal processes. The basic aim is to highlight the relationship between the different systems and how they help to maintain body function. Special emphasis is placed on homeostasis and the control of the system that maintains it.
