This course covers the anatomy, physiology, and pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, focusing on the upper and lower limbs. Additionally, it includes an introduction to normal radiology of the musculoskeletal system and an overview of orthopedics and traumatology.The course delves into the intricate anatomy of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments that make up the upper and lower limbs. Students will learn about the physiological processes involved in movement, biomechanics, and the role of the musculoskeletal system in overall body function.Pathologies covered in this course include common musculoskeletal disorders such as fractures, dislocations, arthritis, muscular dystrophies, and other conditions affecting the limbs. Students will gain knowledge about the underlying causes, clinical manifestations, and management strategies for these disorders.
Furthermore, the course introduces students to the normal radiological appearances of the musculoskeletal system, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRI images. This knowledge is essential for interpreting diagnostic imaging and understanding the radiological features of various musculoskeletal conditions.
