This course provides theoretical knowledge and technical skills necessary to
perform comprehensive physical assessment. It covers the legal and ethical
considerations related to examinations and documentation. The course also
focuses on developing therapeutic communication techniques, understanding
health assessment principles, and techniques. The use of general and specialized
assessment skills as a basis for clinical decision- making is emphasized.

7. Course Main Objective(s):
1. Conduct a comprehensive health history for clients across the lifespan.
2. Explore the nurses’ pivotal role in health assessment.
3. Utilize health history findings to direct the physical examination process,
prioritizing assessment based on client’s needs.
4. Perform a comprehensive head-to-toe physical assessment in a systematic
manner.
5. Demonstrate knowledge on how to conduct and document a health
assessment systematically, adhering to best practices and legal standards.
6. Identify principles used in the electronic recording of patient care information.
7. Analyze the abnormal health and physical assessment findings.
8. Demonstrate proficiency in various health assessment skills and techniques.
