The course is designed to provide students with basic principles of digital imaging and PACS systems and their roles in healthcare. The first part of this course will provide a review for the prerequisite conventional radiography knowledge, including latent image formation, to lay the imaging science foundations for later parts of the course. Being essential knowledge for understanding PACS systems, basic principles of computers, computer networking, and communication will be covered in part 2 of the course.
