This course aims to provide students with the knowledge of anatomical structures and physiological basis for speech, swallowing, hearing, and balance functions. Specifically, students will learn the anatomical structures of the head and neck and thorax, and nervous system. The physiological basis of the normal processes of respiration, phonation, articulation, swallowing, hearing, and balance are covered in this course. This knowledge is essential for students to be able to diagnose and treat patients with communication disorders.
