In this course we look at f-block metals (lanthanides and actinides). Topics covered are, f-orbitals, sources of the lanthanides and actinides, oxidation state, atom and ion sizes and the lanthanide contraction, spectroscopic and magnetic properties, lanthanides/actinides metals, inorganic, coordination and organometallic compounds of the lanthanides and actinides.
