This course is an introduction to the basic principles, laws and theories of modern chemistry. The topics covered include: matter and measurements, atomic structure and electron configuration, chemical formulas and names, periodic table of elements and its trends, chemical bonding, the mole concept, chemical equations, stoichiometry, types of chemical reactions, aqueous solutions, acids and bases, chemical equilibrium, kinetics and thermodynamics. The course will also cover a basic introduction to organic chemistry.
