This course is a skill-based course that focuses on developing the general and academic language skills. It develops students’ language skills (i.e. listening, speaking, reading & writing ) and competencies by exposing them to a variety of general and academic contexts at the beginner & elementary language levels. In addition, the course builds the students' abilities in the language knowledge area by providing them with a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures. Moreover the course develops the learners' critical thinking skills such as analyzing, criticizing, synthesizing, and evaluating which are needed by the students at the university stage.
