In this course, students will learn various network architectures, network protocols, transport & internet protocols, reliable data transfer, addressing and subnetting, protocol analysis, message forwarding, switching & routing, error detecting and correction, congestion, and flow control, LAN & WAN communications, Wireless and Mobile sensor networks, Network security management, internetwork quality of service, and Software-defined networking. Examples of topics to be discussed include contemporary concepts, practices, implementations, and design trade-offs of modern computer networks. Students will be required to read, discuss, and evaluate research papers, and write a report related to an advanced topic in the field of computer networks.
