This ENGL101 course is a skill- based course that focuses on developing the general and academic language skills of the English language students. The course is a pre-requisitse for the ENGL102course. It develops students language skills and competencies by exposing them to a variety of general and academic contexts at the beginner and elementary language levels .Inaddition the course builds the students abilities in the language Knowledge area by providing them with awide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures. Moreover the course develops the learners cognitive skill such as analyzing criticizing synthesizing and evaluating which are needed by the students at the university stage.
