Overview

The Administration of Occupational Safety and Health is committed to achieving multiple objectives, foremost of which are implementing safety requirements and procedures in accordance with the regulations and directives issued by relevant authorities. The department continuously monitors fire alarm and firefighting systems across all university facilities and oversees the execution of evacuation plans, providing training to staff and students in line with available resources. In addition, the department delivers awareness programs to promote a strong culture of safety and risk prevention throughout the university community.

Objectives

  1. Working to provide and update safety equipment and systems within the university in accordance with international quality standards.
  2. Working to familiarize university personnel with emergency plans and how to implement them effectively.
  3. Effectively implementing safety systems across various university facilities.
  4. Familiarizing students, faculty members, and employees with the effective use of university safety equipment.
  5. Promoting a culture of occupational safety and health among university personnel to ensure the safety of lives and property.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervising the periodic inspection of facilities, equipment, and fire extinguishers to ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of the premises.

  2. Supervising the disposal of hazardous waste.

  3. Establishing practices and procedures for the prevention of occupational accidents and injuries.

  4. Conducting inspection and internal auditing operations to ensure safety standards are met.

  5. Supervising the delivery of courses and workshops to enhance awareness of occupational safety and health practices.

  6. Supervising the tendering contracts within its jurisdiction by following up and implementing tender procedures, and ensuring all parties' compliance with the technical and financial terms and standards specified in the contracts.
