Program Mission:
An academically leading program that seeks to recruit all human and material energies of the department to qualify researchers with applied research experiences in the field of special education, by providing them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences to enable them to master the skills and techniques of applied scientific research, so that they can develop special education in programs, institutes, and centers working in the field of individuals with disabilities, and enriching the community with academic and applied research that contributes to its progress.
Program Goals:
The program aims to:
1. Prepare specialized academic professionals who possess scientific, research, and professional competencies in the field of special education, enabling them to apply the necessary knowledge and skills to work efficiently in educational institutions and specialized centers.
2. Strengthen applied scientific research in the fields of special education, by encouraging field studies and qualitative research that contribute to the development of educational practices and policies that serve individuals with disabilities.
3. Develop academic and professional partnerships that contribute to the exchange of expertise and the integration of efforts in research fields and community service.
4. Enhance community service and development by offering initiatives, consultations, and awareness programs that support individuals with disabilities and their families and contribute to raising community awareness about their issues and rights.

K1. Explains the specialized methods for the requirements of scientific research (its sources and mechanisms for reviewing it) in light of their specialization in special education.
K2. Analyzes the management systems of educational environments, including academic programs and curricula for special education institutions, in light of their specialization.
K3. Evaluates the factors that influence the success of preparing and implementing the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in special education in light of their specialization.
Skills:
S1. Employs quantitative or qualitative methods to improve the quality of applied educational research in the field of special education within their area of specialization.
S2. Applies the tools and methods of therapeutic programs according to the principles and foundations of special education in their field of specialization.
S3. Analyzes educational and diagnostic concepts and methods to serve people with disabilities in their field of specialization.
