Department of Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering, affiliated with the College of Engineering in Yanbu, was established under the umbrella of Taibah University, in accordance with the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (20/46/1428) dated 06/02/1428 H. The significance of electrical engineering lies in accelerating the development process in our blessed country, where the effects of electrical engineers are reflected in all development plans and various engineering projects. Electrical engineers play a prominent role in the planning, design, operation, and maintenance of engineering facilities such as power generation stations, transmission lines, and distribution networks. Additionally, electrical engineers are capable of designing various electronics and communication systems, which have become essential in manufacturing most modern devices. There are various job opportunities for electrical engineers, both in the public and private sectors, including Saudi Electricity Company, SABIC, Aramco, and other leading national companies in the industry.

The department comprises a distinguished group of faculty members specializing in research fields such as power systems, wireless communications, control systems, digital signal processing, electronics, and electromagnetics. The department's labs provide students with practical experience in designing and analyzing electrical engineering systems. The electrical engineering program undergoes periodic evaluation of its curriculum and is committed to continuous improvement through assessment and evaluation processes that encompass all of its components. Students are adequately prepared to enter the field of engineering, equipped with essential skills such as communication, ethics, lifelong learning, and effective teamwork.
