Overview

The University seeks to promote research integrity in scientific and innovative activities, ensuring their credibility, integrity, and freedom from any practices that violate ethical conduct or recognized research ethics, while maintaining alignment with international standards. This includes all research practices, whether related to research misconduct or the ethical principles governing scientific research.

The committee also aims to review violations of research integrity and ensure that research and innovation activities comply with the regulations and bylaws in force in the Saudia Arabia, as well as with established professional ethics. It further ensures that such activities are free from any practices that compromise scientific integrity, and provides training programs to raise awareness of the importance of research integrity.

Objectives

  • Contributing to the establishment and promotion of the principles and values of research integrity in scientific and innovative activities at the University.
  • Ensuring the credibility and integrity of research and innovation activities, as well as intellectual property.
  • Verifying that patents are properly attributed to Taibah University by students, faculty members, and staff during their study or employment at the University.
  • Ensuring that research and innovation activities are free from any practices that violate ethical conduct, scientific integrity, or recognized research ethics.
  • Ensuring compliance of research and innovation activities with the regulations and bylaws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as established professional ethics.
  • Ensuring alignment of research and innovation activities with international standards.
  • Developing the necessary rules, regulations, and procedures to protect research integrity.
  • Defining rules, violations, and penalties related to misconduct, in accordance with the applicable regulations and the relevant employment system governing the violator.
  • Promoting awareness of research integrity within the University, and highlighting its importance in academic and scientific research activities among faculty members and students.
  • Reviewing cases referred by relevant entities involving practices or actions that compromise scientific integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with relevant entities, including the Research Ethics Committee, the Scientific Council, the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Deanship of Graduate Studies, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Administration, and the Standing Committee for Scientific Publishing, as well as scientific societies and journals, to enhance awareness of research integrity in research, innovation, and intellectual property.
  • Submitting recommendations deemed appropriate by the committee to the relevant , each within its scope of responsibility.
