The course of Biophysics aims to use the principles and laws of physics for interpreting the biological phenomena and processes which occur within living organisms. The course will cover the following areas: mechanics, Heat, Fluids, Sound, Electricity, Optics and Nuclear Physics. Students will be able to calculate the forces exerted by muscles and skeleton, examine the circulation of blood in the body, understand centrifugal and blood pressure;. In addition, students will be able to use principles of electricity, analyze the conduction of impulses along the nervous system. Course will cover practical aspect including in different topics of physics with biological effects such as elasticity, viscosity, heat, electricity, and optics.
