The course introduces the physical basics of vibrations and waves, explanation of some wave phenomena, and description of the behavior of coupled oscillations, and an oscillating system under damping or external driving force. This in addition to the application of the fundamentals of damped and forced oscillations on many problems in mechanical, electrical, acoustic, and optical systems. The course discusses also the behavior of sound waves in gases, transverse waves in strings, and electromagnetic waves in a certain medium. The phenomena of reflection and refraction are explained as well and apply them to many problems in daily life.
