Students will examine the factors that impact the design and management of global supply chains. Learners will examine financial, logistical, cultural, political, and supply risk factors impacting the efficient and effective flow of commerce between countries and regions of the world. Factors that firms take into account when considering whether to procure domestically or globally, including outsourcing and in-sourcing decisions, are analysed. Strategic decisions involving which production facilities to own and where to locate the facilities are also discussed.
