The course is an introduction to waves, optics, and photonics associated with physical phenomena. It is designed to analyze various phenomena associated with waves and optics using basic principles. This course is including harmonic oscillations, wave motion, standing waves, light in free-space, optical instruments, propagation of light, geometrical optics; reflection and refraction, physical optics; interference, diffraction, and polarization, transmission characteristics of optical fiber, and introduction to laser physics. The course also gives the possibility for the student to study the use of different optical devices.
