Course General Description

This course focuses on the design of liquid dosage forms as
solutions, suspensions, emulsions and colloids and their
characteristics including flow properties, surface properties,
adsorption effects on drug bioavailability, storage conditions and
stability. It also discusses effects of excipients and additives such
as surfactants, preservatives and buffers on their preparation and
drug delivery properties. Furthermore, it outlines basic concepts
and pharmaceutical applications of solubility, diffusion, partition
coefficient, interfacial phenomena, rheological systems, reaction
kinetics and different types of complexes.
