Course General Description

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of key areas in
pharmaceutical biotechnology. Topics covered include therapeutic
proteins, covering biophysical and biochemical characteristics,
stability, production, purification, formulation, pharmacokinetics,
pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity. Additionally, the course
explores monoclonal antibodies, including structure, therapeutic
applications, and their role in cancer and inflammatory diseases.
Gene therapy concepts, such as molecular basis, delivery systems,
and clinical applications, are also reviewed. Special topics in
pharmaceutical biotechnology, including dispensing biotechnology
products, evidence-based practice, advanced therapies, and
genomics, are explored. This course provides a solid foundation for
understanding and utilizing biotechnological advancements in the
pharmaceutical industry.
