This course focuses on teaching students the skills necessary for systems analysis, design, application development, and programming. This includes understanding systems and how they are developed, the different phases and activities of the SDLC, and data modeling techniques. Students will also learn to work effectively in a team environment and understand the SDLC participants’ roles and responsibilities. In the programming-related competencies, students will learn how to apply data transformations and develop problem-solving skills. In the application development-related areas, students will learn how to conduct a systematic requirements analysis, formalize and communicate requirements, and develop and test programming code.
