This course provides a study of the concepts and technologies of Decision Support Systems (DSS) and Business Intelligence, with a focus on the role these systems play in enhancing decision-making processes within organizations. Topics include modeling and analysis, the use of data mining techniques—such as text and web mining—as well as data mining for business intelligence using OLAP and artificial neural networks. The course also covers data warehouses and OLAP preparation, business performance management, and computer-supported collaborative technologies in group support systems. In addition, the course explores the applications of artificial intelligence and expert systems in decision support, with an emphasis on emerging trends and the future impact of these systems on improving managerial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.
