Vision

 We look forward to being an active department in the college and the community, a center for diagnosing advanced cases and providing the necessary treatment for them, and a center for scientific research and development in the field of dental biology and diagnosis.

 

Mission

  • Establish advanced academic programs for the subjects taught by the department, which will raise the level of our graduate students theoretically and practically, so as to prepare them to work in various sectors after graduation and provide them with the necessary skills for the correct and appropriate diagnosis of diseases and conditions of the mouth, oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  • Disseminate knowledge in the specialties of biology, diagnosis, diseases, radiology of the mouth, face and jaws, and the tools used for diagnosis and surgery. Also support the dentist in the post-graduation stage, by holding continuing medical education courses and applied workshops on various topics related to the departments, in cooperation with the Continuing Medical Education Committee at the college.
  • Encourage scientific research in the department, by establishing research teams according to the research competencies enjoyed by specialists and faculty members in the department

About the Department:

The department includes five main divisions:

  • Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
  • Oral Biology and Histology
  •  Oral Medicine
  •  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences is one of the college departments that was merged in 1445 AH within the structure of the new college. This department is concerned with teaching the basics of oral and maxillofacial surgery, in addition to dental anatomy and studying the vital functions of the mouth and oral medicine and diseases. It also diagnoses diseases through clinical, radiological and laboratory examination.
 

Advantages of Department:

  • To work on sending male and female teaching assistants to dental colleges in prestigious and distinguished universities, and specializing in the department's branches to cover the department's needs and raise its efficiency.
  • Work on preparing our male and female graduate students to prepare postgraduate studies for their admission to prestigious and distinguished universities, to cover the needs of the labor market.
  • Work on activating the advanced capabilities of the laboratory and raising the level of work in it to become capable of producing all the laboratory work that our students need in their training and specialists in their treatments.
  • Work on establishing academic (master's) and clinical (fellowship) postgraduate programs, which will provide part of the needs of the Saudi society for these specializations.
