To actively collaborate with the departments of the College of Education in providing facilitation for the continuous improvement of the quality of educational performance at various stages of education, through genuine partnership with the Ministry of Education, education directorates, and university staff. This aims to achieve excellence in preparing student teachers, conducting research, and offering developmental educational programs and policies at both undergraduate preparatory level and graduate studies.
The Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology is one of the main educational departments within the college. It was established in 1398–1399 AH. As a result of departmental restructuring, the Curriculum Division was attached to the Department of Islamic and Comparative Education, and the department was renamed “Methods of Teaching and Educational Technology.”
In 1403–1404 AH, the Curriculum Division was reinstated to the department, and it became known as the “Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology.” On 13/3/1426 AH, following another restructuring of college departments, the Educational Media Division was separated, and the department became the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods.
Later, on 24/3/1445 AH, a restructuring decision was issued to merge the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods with the Department of Educational Technology, forming an independent department under the name: Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology.
The department includes a Practicum Unit that serves all departments within the college. It is one of the educational departments that offers graduate degrees at the diploma (Higher Diploma), Master’s, and Doctoral levels. However, it does not grant undergraduate degrees, though it provides several preparatory education courses at the bachelor’s level.

Presenting distinguished research programs that contribute to the field of curricula, teaching methods, and educational technologies.
