Academic excellence at the local, regional, and global levels in the fields of educational administration, leadership, planning, education policies and economics, and the various areas of foundations of education, in teaching, research, and community service.

Mission

To produce original research that contributes to the advancement of theory and the development of practice in the fields of educational administration, planning, economics, and policy, as well as foundations of education; to offer high-quality educational and training programs that enhance educational practice; and to prepare educational leaders by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and dispositions necessary to diagnose and solve educational problems, in support of the effectiveness of educational fieldwork and active community engagement, through a collaborative team of faculty members.

About the Department

The Department of Education Policies and Economics was established in 1445 AH following the merger of the Departments of Educational Administration, Foundations of Education, Adult Education, and Continuing Education into a single department under its current title. This was enacted pursuant to Taibah University Sector Restructuring Decision No. (230/Q), dated 24/3/1445 AH, in implementation of the Universities Affairs Council Decision No. (2/16/45), issued at its sixteenth session held on 14/2/1445 AH, which approved the comprehensive academic restructuring of twenty-four universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Department Goals

In its pursuit of leadership and excellence, and in light of the mission and values of the University and the College, the Department seeks to:
1- Sustain research productivity, both theoretically to advance knowledge and practically to support the effectiveness of educational practice.
2- Contribute to the preparation of competent administrators capable of advancing educational work.
3- Prepare educational leaders by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for leading, managing, and planning education, as well as analyzing educational policies through the methods of education economics.
4- Engage actively with the community through training programs and continuing education.
