It is a specialized medical program that focuses on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing, speech, language, voice, and communication disorders. The program aims to rehabilitate individuals with hearing or speech disabilities and empower them to integrate into society.

It is one of the rare specialties in the Kingdom and the region. Additionally, the prevalence of hearing impairments and speech disorders is increasing, which increases the demand for qualified specialists in this field.

The goal is to prepare specialized national cadres to contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services provided to individuals with hearing impairments and speech-language disorders, improving their quality of life, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The program consists of two main tracks:

• Hearing and Balance Track

• Speech and Swallowing Track
  Each track includes theoretical and practical courses, totaling 132 accredited credit hours.

Yes, practical and clinical training is provided in clinics and labs equipped with the latest devices. This allows students to gain real-world field experience in a specialized training environment.

Graduates can work in:

• Government and private hospitals

• Medical rehabilitation centers

• Speech and hearing clinics

• School clinics and centers for individuals with disabilities
  They can also work in areas such as training, consulting, and auditory-speech rehabilitation.

• Diagnosing and treating hearing, balance, speech, and swallowing disorders

• Improving verbal, linguistic, and cognitive communication skills

• Working with children with speech delays or stuttering

• Programming hearing aids and cochlear implants

Courses are mainly taught in English, with support for medical terms in Arabic to facilitate understanding and application.

The program lasts for four academic years, plus one year of internship for practical training in hospitals and specialized centers.
