His Highness the University President Dr. Adnan Bin Abdullah Al Mazrooa congratulated the male and female students of the University in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah and the University branches in Yanbu, Al Ola, Badr, Khaibar, Al Mahd, and Al Henakeyyah on the occasion of the start of the academic year. Dr. Al Mazrooa said in a statement for the fresh male and female students "The University with all its potentials built for you. If you were not existed, it would not have been built and we would not have been here. So, exert your utmost efforts diligently in scientific and practical study and contribute in developing the University in all fields. You are a part of its affiliates, and you should contribute in developing it with your innovative ideas and original values. He added that we have to provide you with the appropriate academic environment including all your needs of theatres, academic classes, laboratories, yards, recreational places, and other services. You are the hope of tomorrow and equipments of future, and change generation towards the better for our beloved country in general and Al Madinah Al Munawwarah in particular, and this is a great responsibility you are assigned with, so you have to be proportional to it and you are worthy of it.
The meetings of the contact program events held for one week have launched yesterday evening Sunday with three Faculties. It targets the admitted students who join the Preparatory Year Program and the admitted students without a Preparatory Year, and those who were admitted last year and completed the Preparatory Year Program and were admitted at their Faculties. Yesterday evening, three meetings were opened by the Faculty of Engineering Dean Dr. Waseem Bin Hasan Orfely as he mentioned for students that the vision of the Faculty is launched from providing the internationally best and certified diverse academic program so that the student can choose his academic track in a way that reflects his aspirations and interests within a general framework of the requirements of the current and future labor market to prepare academic and distinguished cadres in different engineering sciences, providing scientific and technical consultancies for all diverse sectors. As well, it aims, through the education outputs provided to its students, at serving the Saudi community by establishing a distinctive scientific edifice to be a source for technology and engineering sciences by presenting the best internationally acknowledged academic programs. He outlined that the Engineering Faculty was established in 1427 A.H. The Faculty of Engineering at Taibah University invested its energies and potentials of Faculty Members, instructors, executives, and technicians to promote engineering education in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah Region and provide the beneficial information and facilitate training to the requisite skills by the most up-to-date methods for the interest of our sons as they are the real fortune of this country. Thus, it participates in building up a knowledge based economy and it mobilizes the development wheel forward in all fields, particularly the engineering field. It embraces six Departments including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, architectural engineering, industrial engineering, and civil engineering, informing students of each one of them.
Dr. Khalid Saleh Al 'Awfy outlined in the contact meeting that the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering includes the Departments of Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Networks and Communications Systems, Programming and Applications, and Computer Engineering, referring that the Faculty grants its graduates the Bachelor Degree of Computer Science in the first Departments. Yet, as for the Computer Engineering Department, its graduates are granted the Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering. He added that the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Taibah University is regarded as one of the civilization landmarks at the city of the Messenger of Allah – peace be upon him – as by its inauguration, it gives to the nation sons a new academic dimension and opened new scientific horizons. Also, it prepares the female and male students and qualified them to acquire capabilities in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and contributes in encouraging and developing the theoretical and applied scientific research and its requirements including organizing scientific conferences and symposia in the field of computer science, providing scientific consultations in the fields of computer science and engineering and its applications, the participation in providing training and educational programs in the field of computer that enforce the Faculty's role in serving community, and issuance of specialized judged scientific periodicals that are concerned with the computer science and engineering.
The meetings of the first contact day for fresh students were concluded by the assigned Dean of the Faculty of Education Dr. Nayyaf Bin Rasheed Al Jabery through which he mentioned that in the framework of the strategic plan of Taibah University, the Faculty seeks to provide facilitations for continuous improvement for the educational performance quality in the diverse educational stages through real partnership with the Ministry of Education, Education Departments, University employees with the aim of realizing distinction in preparing the education students, conducting researches, providing developmental and educational policies at the level of Bachelor and Higher Studies, referring that the student is the axis of its programs and activities and the final product with what he has of developed knowledge, skills, and experiences that enable him to be a competent teacher with noble values from one side and to practice his professional based on comprehensive concepts that enforce basic concepts including contemplation, knowledge, critical thinking, cooperative learning, learning technology, individual differences, respecting cultural diversity including between learners and teachers.
The contact meetings continued today Monday by three meetings. The first was organized by the Faculty of Dental Medicine through which the Faculty Dean Dr. Waleed Murshed welcomed the students, outlining that the Faculty aims at providing distinguished male and female dentists who are characterized by high skills and noble Islamic morals who are capable of meeting the community needs and distinction locally and internationally, realizing the quality standards, relying in teaching Dentistry at the level of Bachelor and higher studies students, paying attention to continuous education, following up modern technology in Dentistry and concentration on rendering remedial services for community and paying attention to scientific research and encouraging innovation, seeking to graduate national cadres of scientifically and professionally distinguished male and female dentists according to morals and Islamic values, applying highest quality standards in education and training using most sophisticated means to realize local and international standards of academic accreditation of scientific degrees granted by the Faculty. Also, playing an effective role in promoting the level of dentists according the need of labor market in the fields of Dentistry through training courses and continuous medical education programs, and promoting the specialization level through providing higher studies programs in the diverse dental medicine specialties, and encouraging and supporting the academic and applied research programs of strategic importance in the developmental plans, tightening bonds, opening constructive cooperation channels, exchanging scientific experiences with the scientific, local, and international institution, providing consultations and scientific and technical services for the governmental and non-governmental authorities which are concerned with the health of mouth and teeth.
The second contact meeting was for the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation through which the Faculty Dean Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Ash Shenqeety congratulated students on the occasion of the start of the academic year, wishing them success and attaining the highest scientific degrees and through which Dr. Al Shenqeety informed students of the Faculty and its provided educational outputs for its students. The Faculty currently includes a number of scientific Departments specialized in medical rehabilitation. It currently grants the Bachelor degree in the physical remedy program, and we are about to activate the Bachelor program in respiratory therapy and artificial limbs in the academic year 1436 A.H. Besides, it aims at activating two other programs gradually in the subsequent years in speech and hearing therapy and functional therapy for the Bachelor degree as well. The Dean said that the Faculty seeks to graduate and qualify national cadres qualified to work in the medial rehabilitative field (physical therapy, functional therapy, respiratory therapy, artificial limbs, assisting devices, hearing and speech therapy) in a way consistent with the international scientific standards.
The contact meetings of the second day were concluded with a meeting with the fresh students at the Faculty of Applied Science through which the Faculty Dean Dr. Hussein Bughdady said that the Faculty seeks to graduate qualified human cadres of basic, scientific, and specialized skills in the fields of diverse applied sciences. It encourages and supports the research, academic, and applied programs, tightens the bonds with the local and international educational institutions, opening aspects of constructive cooperation, exchanging experiences, tightening bonds with the private and governmental sectors due to their participation in building and developing the Faculty curricula in a way consistent with the requirements of labor market, and training the faculty students before graduation, in addition to developing the scientific, mental, and social personality of the student.
