In this course, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to plan assessments and interventions for clients who would benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods. Essential concepts regarding potential AAC users' characteristics, elements of AAC systems and techniques will be covered. Focus will include an in-depth review of the assessment process, as well as the AAC needs of individuals with developmental and acquired disabilities across the age continuum.
