The program aims to provide comprehensive knowledge of the composition of planet Earth and its mineral and rock content, as well as the study of mineral resources and their relationship to internal and surface geological processes. It also aims to study the patterns of mineral deposits, how to prospect for them, methods of mineral exploration, and the evaluation of mineral ore quantities. It also aims to identify mineral extraction techniques in quarries and mines, study and evaluate the environmental impacts resulting from prospecting and extraction of minerals, and work to reduce negative environmental impacts.
