About the Department:

  • Established per Higher Education Council Resolution No. (10/50/1429) and Royal Decree No. (10209/M.B.) dated 30/12/1429H.
  • Commenced teaching in the first semester of the 1430-1431H (2009-2010) academic year.
  • Originally founded in 1397H/1977M as the "Foreign Languages Department" within the College of Education at King Abdulaziz University's Madinah branch.
  • Renamed to "Languages and Translation Department" after the establishment of Taibah University in 1424H, and transferred to the College of Arts and Humanities upon its inception in 1430H/2009.
