Mission

To provide serious educational and research services by utilizing the available human and technological resources in line with the mission of the college and the university and the standards of quality, in order to deliver graduates with logical thinking and scientific research skills capable of meeting the needs of our society.

About the Department:

The establishment of the Mathematics Department coincided with the establishment of the College of Education at the Madinah branch of King Abdulaziz University in 1397/1398 AH, when it was formed as one of the divisions of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at that time. The department then comprised three divisions: Mathematics, Physics, and Natural Sciences.

In 1418 AH, the Departments of Physics and Mathematics were separated from the Department of Natural Sciences. Based on the Royal Approval No. 7/B/5538 dated 20/04/1418 AH to establish the College of Science at the Madinah branch of King Abdulaziz University, the branch became independent and was later named Taibah University. Subsequently, the Mathematics Department separated from the Physics Department and became an independent department offering a comprehensive and distinguished Mathematics program.

The department currently includes approximately seventy-two faculty members of various academic ranks (Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor), supported by around forty lecturers and teaching assistants of both genders. The department offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees to male and female students from all regions of the Kingdom.

  • Developing innovative capabilities and lifelong learning, and equipping male and female students with essential skills in mathematics and statistics.

  • Fostering a spirit of volunteerism among department students, contributing positively to the community of the City of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

  • Providing the community with highly qualified graduates capable of contributing to comprehensive development projects and excelling in graduate studies programs.
