Mission

Providing a distinguished educational environment that promotes high-quality learning experience according to national and international standards, and a stimulating academic climate that develops research and community service skills in various branches of physics.

About the Department:

The Department of Physics is one of the core departments within the College of Science at Taibah University, committed to preparing highly qualified scientific professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to the advancement of science, technology, and society. The department offers distinguished academic and research programs covering general physics as well as advanced applied specializations, such as Physics and Energy Technologies.

The Department of Physics was established as a subdivision within the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences when the College of Education (a branch of King Abdulaziz University in Madinah) was founded in 1397-1398 AH. Following Royal Decree No. 7/B/5538 on 20/4/1418 AH, which approved the establishment of the College of Science in Madinah, the Department of Physics became an independent department starting from the second semester of the academic year 1418-1419 AH.

Academic Programs

  •  A Bachelor of Science in Physics (requiring 135 credit hours).

  •  A Bachelor of Science in Physics and Energy Technologies (requiring 136 credit hours).

  •  A Master’s Program in Physics, with specializations in Experimental and Theoretical Physics, following coursework and research project systems. The department is committed to providing students with a comprehensive academic experience, integrating theoretical and applied aspects across various branches of physics.
