Taibah University offers Dual Specialization and Minor Specialization programs to enable students to expand their academic knowledge, develop complementary skills, and enhance their career readiness. These programs provide structured opportunities for academic enrichment while maintaining the University’s academic standards.
Expanding students’ academic knowledge.
Enhancing their skills across multiple fields.
Increasing their readiness for the job market.
Enabling them to pursue additional academic pathways aligned with their interests and abilities.
A program that allows the student to obtain an additional major alongside their primary major. It requires the completion of 30% of the credit hours of another major (specialty courses only). The dual specialization appears on both the graduation certificate and the academic transcript.
Registration is available for bachelor’s students only.
Choosing a dual specialization must be from the predefined list offered by other departments.
A cumulative GPA of not less than 3 out of 5.
The student must not have completed more than 60% of the credit hours of their primary major.
The student must not have spent more than six semesters at the university.
Completion of at least 36 specialty credit hours of the primary major (excluding university requirements and free electives).
Submission of the request within the timeframe specified in the academic calendar.
The offering department determines the available seats; selection is made based on specific criteria.
The student must not have (dismissal, academic warning, disciplinary action) throughout their enrollment.
No transfer or visitation request (internal/external) at the time of application.
After acceptance, no transfer/visitation requests are allowed throughout both majors.
Only one dual specialization may be registered.
Students may not combine a dual and a minor specialization.
Withdrawal from the dual specialization prevents reapplying for any additional specialization.
Changing the major or applying for visitation requires canceling the dual specialization; reapplication for any specialization is not allowed.
The dual specialization appears on the degree certificate and academic transcript.
Grades of the dual specialization are not counted in the GPA.
No course equivalency or exemption is allowed.
The student must not have previously changed their major resulting in extended study duration.
An additional program taken by the student alongside the primary major, requiring completion of at least 15% of the credit hours of another major (specialty courses only, excluding university requirements and free electives). The minor specialization appears only in the academic transcript.
Registration is available for bachelor’s students only.
The minor must be chosen from predefined specializations offered by other departments.
A cumulative GPA of not less than 3 out of 5.
The student must not have completed more than 70% of primary major credit hours.
The student must not have spent more than six semesters at the university.
Completion of at least 36 specialty credit hours of the primary major.
Submission of the request within the period specified in the academic calendar.
The department offering the minor determines available seats.
No academic or disciplinary issues in the student’s record.
No transfer or visitation request at the time of applying.
After acceptance, no transfer/visitation requests are allowed until completion.
Only one minor specialization may be registered.
Students may not combine a minor and a dual specialization.
Withdrawal prevents reapplying to any additional specialization.
Changing the major or requesting visitation requires cancelling the minor specialization, with no reapplication allowed.
The minor specialization appears only in the academic transcript.
Grades of the minor specialization are not counted in the cumulative GPA.
No course equivalency or exemption is allowed.

Applications for Dual Specialization and Minor Specialization are submitted through the University’s Electronic Services Portal during the periods specified in the approved academic calendar.
After accessing the portal, students must follow these steps:
Log in using the university account.
Select the Dual or Minor Specialization registration service from the list of services.
Review the program’s conditions, regulations, and criteria.
Submit the application electronically and complete any additional requirements (if applicable).
Track the application status through the portal until the final result is announced and approved.
