Taibah University’s College of Medicine, under the leadership of Professor Yasir Hassan Elhassan and in collaboration with the University of Manchester, has unveiled a “Staged-Release” PBL model. Combining pre-class trigger cases with seven in-class, hypothetico-deductive steps, the approach re-energizes learners’ autonomy, competence and relatedness, sharpens clinical reasoning, and mitigates PBL fatigue. Its successful implementation is showcased in the Q1 journal Medical Teacher on of the high impacted Journal in medical education.
