The “Excellence Leadership in University Education” workshop organized by the University Development Deanship in cooperation with the Academic Leadership Center at the Ministry of Higher Education concluded on yesterday Monday evening at Meridian Hotel in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah where the workshop program, lasting for two days, included a lecture of by Dr.Van Galen at the first day and a lecture by Dr. Geffary Buller at the second and last day, while the course targeted Deans of Faculties and Heads of academic Departments.
As for workshop axes, Dr. Van Galen, the advisor of the American Wisconsin-River Falls University started his lecture entitled “ Excellence in Leadership through Creativity and Exercises of High Impact” by talking about the method of urging students in academic contributions through the methods obtaining best results scientifically through the academic organizations concerned with measuring these methods, adding several educational methods such as the difference methods, cooperative method, scientific projects method, problems solving method. Then, Dr. Galen concluded the firs axis by discussing the guidance relationship between the academician and student.
As for the second axis, Dr. Galen tackled the mechanism of teaching students before graduation by scientific researches in which he discussed subjects of appropriate researches for a number of academic materials and talked about the importance of making research as a basis of the student’s academic program. Afterwards, Dr. Galen, in his third axis, highlighted the optional or experimental education in which he discussed several points such as the external study programs, and another axis of the same course at its first day, Dr. Galen talked about educational communities and educational living communities to concluded his lecture by the attainment of lecture at first day and reviewing the most significant points.
On the workshop axes at its second and last day, Dr.Jeffrey Buller, the Dean of Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at the American Atlantic Florida University started his lecture entitled “ Strategies of Increasing Students Success through Cooperative and Active Education” by talking what is called premeditation and reflection in education through which Dr. Buller discussed how to design effective educational outputs and continuous evaluation and development of educational programs and reflection as an educational tools. In the lecture’s second access, Dr. Buller tackled the changes in the nature of students teaching centers in which he discussed the mechanism of developed transformation of the academic faculties programs and the transformational movement in education environments to practical environments and partnerships in academic programs.
As for the third axis, Dr. Buller tackled sharing distinct educational experiments through the known reading programs, experience program of first year, experience program of second year, and experience program of graduation year, and at the last axis of the workshop, Dr. Buller talked about education by service in which the trainer discussed the best education means by service and social role in this and the importance of governmental and private  partnerships in this. Finally, Dr. Buller concluded his lecture by the workshop attainment on its second day and reviewing the most important points of the course.
