Introduction

These regulations and conditions aim to organize the processes of internal and external transfer for male and female students at Taibah University, ensuring fairness and transparency, while considering academic compatibility and the colleges’ capacity. They also support the achievement of the University’s institutional performance indicators.

Definitions

Term Definition
External Transfer The transfer of a student from another university to Taibah University.
Internal Transfer between Colleges The transfer of a student from one college to another within Taibah University.
Change of Major within a College The transfer of a student from one major to another within the same college.
Visiting Student A student who studies courses at another university without transferring.
Earned Credit Hours The number of academic credit hours successfully completed by the student.
Equivalent Major A major that is similar in name and academic content.
Transfer Score A score calculated based on the university GPA and the weighted score.
Weighted Score Calculated from high school GPA, General Aptitude Test, and Achievement Test results.

Transfer Application Steps

  1. Access the Taibah University electronic portal.
  2. Complete the transfer application form.
  3. Upload the required documents.
  4. Track the application status electronically.
  5. Wait for the announcement of results.
  6. Complete the transfer admission procedures upon approval.

Note: Students accepted through external transfer must complete the course equivalency form through the relevant academic department before finalizing admission procedures.

General Conditions for External Transfer

Basic Requirements

  • The applicant must be Saudi, or born to a Saudi mother, or a female applicant who is the mother of a Saudi child.
  • Application must be to an equivalent major for all programs, except:
    • College of Arts and Humanities
    • Applied College
  • Completion of the preparatory year and specialization track, or completion of the first academic year in the major.
  • Transfers from within the Madinah region are not accepted.
  • Transfers from diploma programs to bachelor’s programs are not accepted.
  • The student must be medically fit and able to complete the program requirements.
  • Transfer applications are accepted only after completing the first academic year.
    An exception applies to the 1446 AH cohort, limited to the 1448 AH application period.

Required Documents

  • A recent official academic transcript (issued within the last two weeks).
  • The transcript must include: credit hours, grades, GPA, and academic status.
  • The study plan of the current major.

Conditions for Social Security Beneficiaries and Similar Cases

Basic Requirements

Additional Advantage

  • An additional +2% is added to the transfer score during ranking.

Additional Documents

  • A recent social security certificate or disability certificate (issued within the last two weeks).

General Conditions for Internal Transfer

  • The student must not be withdrawn, suspended, or registered as a visiting student.
  • The student must be medically fit.
  • All requirements of the target major must be met.
  • Application is allowed only after completing the first academic year.
  • The student must not have previously transferred or changed their major.
  • A minimum of 26 earned credit hours is required.
  • The student must not be enrolled in a double major or minor program.

Change of Major within the Same College

The following conditions must be met:

  • Fulfillment of all requirements of the receiving department.
  • Completion of at least one academic semester.
  • Successful completion of at least 16 earned credit hours.
  • The student must not have completed more than:
    • Two semesters (for different programs)
    • Four semesters (for similar programs)
  • The student must not be withdrawn or previously transferred.
  • The student must not be enrolled in a double major or minor program.

Transfer Timeline

The Deanship of Admission and Registration determines:

  • The application period
  • The result announcement date
  • The final date for withdrawal

Calculation of Transfer Score

Transfer Score =
(20% of cumulative university GPA) + (80% of weighted score)

Weighted Score Breakdown

  • 30% General Aptitude Test
  • 40% Achievement Test
  • 30% High School GPA

Minimum Required Transfer Score

Medicine and Dentistry 2% lower than the lowest accepted score in the previous year
Health, Engineering, and Computing Programs 85%
Other Bachelor’s Programs 70%

Capacity Limits

  • The number of transfer seats must not exceed 10% of the total admitted students in each program.
  • Selection is based on available seats and transfer scores.
  • This is applied separately for male and female sections.

Number of Allowed Transfers

Each student is allowed one transfer only during their university studies, whether internal or external.

Common Reasons for Rejection

  • Failure to complete two academic semesters successfully.
  • Failure to meet the required number of earned credit hours.
  • Transfer score below the minimum requirement.
  • Application to a non-equivalent major.
  • Presence of a medical condition preventing program completion.
  • Applying outside the designated period.
  • Applying before or after the permitted timeframe.

General Provisions

  • All transfer procedures are implemented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
  • All colleges must comply with these regulations.
  • Change-of-major regulations within colleges are applied through the Deanship.
  • Any case not explicitly stated in this guide shall be governed by the general academic bylaws and regulations of Taibah University.
