His Excellency, the President of Taibah University, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sarani, sponsored the university's celebration of the 88th National Day of the Unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The celebration was organized in the Grand Conference Hall and attended by university vice presidents, deans of colleges, faculty members, and a large number of male and female students.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by verses from the Holy Quran. A documentary film was then screened about the Kingdom's achievements in 2018, highlighting the university's most notable accomplishments during that year. A number of poets then recited patriotic poems on the occasion, and a number of students performed an operetta entitled "Kingdom of Determination."
Following this, His Excellency the University President delivered his speech on this occasion, in which he extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may God protect them, and to the generous Saudi people on this precious occasion. He expressed that the anniversary of National Day is a precious occasion for all the people of the Kingdom, and an opportunity to remember the history of the heroic epic undertaken by the founder of the Kingdom, King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, and the path of construction, development, and prosperity led by his righteous sons after him. His Excellency said: "This timeless occasion is a precious opportunity to instill in the souls of the young people of this dear nation the meanings of loyalty and allegiance to those heroes who created this ancient glory for this nation. We all feel proud and honored, and we hold our heads high, looking to the horizon at the shining, glittering word of monotheism, and at the meaning of monotheism that has been realized on the ground for more than a century until now, thanks to God, the grace and favor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him." His Excellency added that the era of resolve and determination is an era of realized visions, leading the Kingdom to gain the admiration and appreciation of all countries around the world for its cultural, economic, and developmental achievements, as well as for its tremendous efforts in combating terrorism, extremism, and fanaticism by all means, and its adoption of a moderate approach. He explained that this occasion represents an opportunity for historians, writers, researchers, and foresight experts to study the Kingdom's successful experience since its unification, becoming one of the most successful models in the history of the emergence of nations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency the University President honored the winning students who won the national competition, which included cultural, literary, and artistic aspects.
