As Salam Faculties Complex at Taibah University concluded “ I am Jerusalem” campaign organized by the Students Affairs Vice-Presidency for Educational Services with the contribution of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth and the Arts and Culture Association in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah, and its events lasted for one week.
The events of the campaign included a lecture entitle “ A Tour inside the Honorable Aqsa Mosque.. Three Dimensional ” delivered by the Assistant Professor in the Social Sciences Department in Taibah University Dr.Abdullah Marouf , and a lecture entitled “ Jerusalem between Past and Present” delivered by the Islamic History Professor Dr. Waleed Qaiseyah in which he tackled Jerusalem in the eras of Prophethood, Rightly Guided Caliphate, Umayyad and Abbasid, and Jerusalem in the Crusades stage. Also, in the Ottoman and modern era. Besides, the events comprehended an accompanying fair including several cultural and artistic corners revolving around Jerusalem.
On his side, Dr. Abdullah Marouf the Assistant Professor in the Social Sciences Department at Taibah University stated that the initiative of the female students of Taibah University with the campaign “ I am Jerusalem” clearly indicates considerable awareness of the interconnection of our Islamic sanctities everywhere and of our nation’s urgent issues which we undergo this age, especially the issue of the Honorable Aqsa Mosque. In addition, it reveals the extent of the interest of the University’s female students to get acquainted with the miracle of Isra and Miraj, noting that this interest of Taibah University , its male and female students is not surprising; they are the sons of the city of the Prophet (PBUH) , and the people of the Honorable Prophet’s Mosque which is the second Mosque to which people travel.Hence, it is natural to take care of the Honorable Aqsa Mosque; the first Qiblah of Muslims and the second Mosque to be build up on earth, and the third Mosque to which people travel in Islam, particularly after the crucial circumstances which the Honorable Aqsa Mosque undergoes today stayed its image away from Image from the minds of a good number of the sons of our nation. Thus, this endeared image endeared to hearts had to be awakened in the minds of the sons and daughters of our nation, and to remind them of this cherished place.
Dr. Marouf stated that we daily, in Al Madinah, pass by Qiblatain Mosque reminding us of a venerable incident in our history; it is the incident of transforming Qiblah from Jerusalem to the Honorable Kaaba. It was formidable that Al Madinah Al Munawwarah embraces this Mosque at which Muslims prayed one prayer to the two Qiblas together, so they prayed it in one place and one prayer. Such an incident was one of the distinct and noble incidents in our history. As well, Al Madinah was the place from which the Emir of Believers Umar Bin Al Khattab marched himself to conquer Ash-Sham and conquering Jerusalem in the era of Caliph Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with Him), adding that it is paradoxical to know that Umar Bin Al Khattab (May Allah be pleased with Him) insisted, on the day of conquering Jerusalem, that Belal Bin Rabah (May Allah be pleased with Him) to be the first one to call out Adhān in the Honorable Aqsa Mosque, ensuring for us throughout history a vivid example of the interconnection of the three Mosques to each other. Hence, Belal (May Allah be pleased with Him) is the first one to call out Adhān at the Holy Mosque on the day of conquering Mecca. Consequently, Belal had also to be the first one to pronounce Adhān in the Honorable Aqsa Mosque in a clear and express affirmation by Umar Bin Al Khattab of the interconnection of these three Mosques by a fixed, strong, unchangeable, and unsubstituted bond.
